Adam Miller is the President and CEO of Cornerstone OnDemand. Since he founded the company in 1999, Miller has led Cornerstone through 10 consecutive years of growth, transforming it into one of the world’s leading Software-as-a-Service companies with over 3.2 million subscribers globally. Cornerstone has recently been recognized as one of the nation’s fastest growing companies by Deloitte, Inc and the LA Business Journal.
In addition to strategy, sales and operations, Miller has led the Cornerstone’s product development efforts since inception. His vision helped create the first truly integrated talent management solution in the market, which today earns top ratings from Gartner for learning and performance management systems, as well as industry innovation awards. He has written and spoken extensively about talent management and on demand software. He is a contributing author to ASTD’s recently published book Talent Management - Strategies for Success.
Miller’s focus on client success and product excellence has earned the company the top retention rate in the industry and validation as the leader in Bersin & Associates 2009 client satisfaction survey. In 2009, Miller was named the Southern California Technology Association’s CEO of the Year.
Miller blends his background in finance, business, technology and law to guide Cornerstone OnDemand. Prior to founding Cornerstone, Miller served time as a lawyer and investment banker. He worked in corporate finance with Schroders (now Citi Financial) and an affiliate of Montgomery Securities (now Bank of America), supporting clients with private equity and public financing, as well as M&A advisory. Previously, he worked with the Card Group in Los Angeles.
Miller has a JD from the UCLA School of Law, an MBA from the Anderson School of Business, a BS from the Wharton School and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania. He earned a CPA and Series 7 certifications. He co-authored two books, Business Capital for Women (Macmillan, 1996) and Managing Your Inheritance (Random House, 1995). But it was his 2 year trip alone around the world (6 continents) that taught him how to build a global business.
Miller is the Chairman of the Cornerstone OnDemand Foundation, which leverages Cornerstone’s expertise, solutions and partner ecosystem to help empower communities. With a focus on education, workforce development and disaster relief, the Foundation has developed strategic partnerships with Teach for America, the New Teacher Project, Junior Achievement, Oxfam, Save the Children, the Points of Light Foundation, the Taproot Foundation and many other leading non-profits.
