
Stuart C. Harvey, Jr. became Chief Executive Officer and President of Ceridian effective August 16, 2010. Stuart was most recently the Chief Executive Officer of Elavon’s Global Acquiring Solutions organization and had executive management responsibility for the overall strategy, vision and operations of Elavon’s worldwide business. Elavon is a subsidiary of U.S. Bancorp.
Mr. Harvey joined Elavon (formerly NOVA Information Systems) in April 2003 and based in Dublin, Ireland, led the company's international expansion, directing all business development and merger and acquisition initiatives in Europe. He was subsequently promoted to CEO and president once Nova was re-branded as Elavon and assumed global responsibility for the business in 2005.
Prior to joining Elavon, he was a managing director with the investment banking firm of Piper Jaffray in Minneapolis. He is also a former practicing attorney having worked previously with two Chicago-based law firms.
Mr. Harvey is a graduate of Saint John's University in Minnesota, earned a law degree from The National Law Center at The George Washington University and an MBA degree from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
Mr. Harvey is a member of the Board of Directors of TrustWave Corporation, currently serves on the Board of Regents for Saint John’s University and was recently a recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
